Set on a ridge overlooking the North Downs, this historic site consists of six luxury apartments and two five-bedroom country homes on the main section of the site, with an additional property to one side.
The original historic building in the centre of the site was converted sensitively into apartments to retain its heritage values and prolong its life for many more years. Former outbuildings on the site were replaced with two detached properties, located either side of the main building and designed to reflect its architecture and detail. We also ensured that the houses remained subservient and did not compete with the main building in architectural terms.
To maximise the plot and its panoramic countryside views, an additional residence was built to one side in a contrasting contemporary style. It includes extensive glazing and terraces to the rear, modern open-plan living areas and a stunning infinity pool.
The scheme was Highly Commended in the ‘Best Out of London’ category at the London Evening Standard New Homes Awards.
