Wokingham Borough Council invited a select number of property developers to submit tender packages for the major redevelopment of many parts of its historic town centre. The proposals had to provide new opportunities within various sectors, including retail, tourism, open spaces and housing.
To assist their submission we were commissioned by one of the chosen consortiums, to be responsible for designing a high quality housing solution to form a major part of a comprehensive mixed-use scheme.
During the consideration process Ascot Design was ‘highly commended’ by the Council for the design. Unlike some of the other submissions, our proposal adopted a style that respected and embraced the indigenous architectural qualities, and if taken forward, would be a seamless extension to the town.
